SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS

To preserve the learning environment for all students, volunteers will not be allowed in classrooms without prior arrangements being made with the building principal or designee.

Individuals interested in volunteering in school should begin by filling out a volunteer application (click here).  Once approved, interested individuals should then contact the school office to discuss volunteer opportunities.

Approved volunteers who intend to work inside school buildings must provide proof of vaccination (two shots--Moderna/Pfizer; one shot--J&J) or have an approved religious or medical accommodation plan on file. To request a religious or medical accommodation plan, please contact Executive Director of Human Resources, Eric Brubaker at [email protected]. Please allow one week for your request to be processed. Volunteers who will only be working outside are not required to provide proof of vaccination (see below from this site: Vaccine Mandate FAQ ).

Which volunteers of covered entities are included in the vaccination requirement for employees?

All on-site volunteers who primarily or routinely perform their duties or tasks indoors, or whose duties or tasks include providing health care services in any on-site location, are included in the requirement to be fully vaccinated. Requirements do not apply to on-site volunteers who primarily perform their duties or tasks outside, and whose duties or tasks do not include providing health care services.   Examples include volunteers with the state Department of Transportation’s Adopt-A-Highway Program and K-12 volunteers who perform their duties or tasks in outdoor settings.

If you need help scanning documents to upload or access to a computer, please call our Volunteer Application processor at (253) 566-5600, email [email protected], or stop by the District Office for help between 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Thanks so much for your willingness to serve the students of University Place!
