Volunteers

Thank you for your interest in volunteering in UPSD schools!
We are appreciative of your willingness to give back to our students with your time and talents. In light of the current COVID-19 pandemic and the uncertainty of what school will look like for our students in the fall, the
University Place School District is pausing our application process for volunteers until further notice. Once we have more information we will update this page to reflect changes to our plan for volunteers. If you have additional questions, please contact Executive Director of Human Resources, Eric Brubaker, at ebrubaker@upsd83.org

All prospective volunteers must complete a volunteer application using the University Place School District Volunteer Application system.-

Background checks will be conducted on all adults working with students as part of the application process.

To apply as a volunteer, please register & complete the online application (click here).

  • Complete the items in the checklist, including the mandatory disclosure.
  • Upload your driver's license to the "My Checklist" section of the application

A Washington State Patrol background check is conducted on all volunteer applicants.

Once approved, all volunteers must reapply every two years.

If you need help scanning documents to upload or access to a computer, please call our Volunteer Coordinator at (253) 566-5600, email volunteers@upsd83.org, or stop by the District Office for help from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm.
